Thank very much for coming to our conference yesterday.

This session drew one of the largest attendances we have had at an RSG. Carole’s name and reputation must go before her as we had over 50 attendees! The ‘crowds’ were not disappointed by Carole’s lively session which didn’t permit us to stay sitting down for very long! She used examples in French, Spanish and German and accompanied her songs with actions and visuals, putting the case more strongly than ever that song and rhythm are excellent aids to memory. The evaluations were all good and excellent, with the majority excellent. The comments suggested that the attendees were inspired by Carole’s lively style and impressed by the high quality materials that she has produced. The whiteboard activities for the non-specialist teachers drew much interest, though more of the schools have Smart-boards than Promethean so would have to seek guidance on how to ensure that the materials were compatible. All in all many good ideas were taken back to school, once again emphasising how well pupil’s learn when they are having fun!

Head Teacher. Coldfall Primary School, Muswell Hill.
Can I say what a wonderful, inspirational training session you held for us last night. The staff are “buzzing” about it and very keen to start using the CDs as soon as possible. I was so pleased to see all my teachers singing and dancing and really throwing themselves into the whole language learning with you.The session was fun, interactive and really instilled confidence in our ability not only to begin to learn French ourselves but to be able to teach our children and learn together in a really exciting way. I have already put the CDs onto my Ipod so I can “listen and learn” on my journey to school! Thank you so much for bringing such a spark to our school.

Sue Tomes
Head Teacher. Wimbledon Chase Primary.
I just wanted to thank you once again for a very interesting and entertaining presentation of ‘Using Catchy Songs, Rhymes and Raps to motivate language learning’ at our RSG Meeting on Thursday, 23 September. I received a lot of positive comments from colleagues present and I think we all went away singing ‘Dans ma trousse il y a un stylo’ in our heads all night! I must say that it made me want to be back in the classroom again so that I could use all your inspirational ideas.

MFL Advisor . The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
Thank you for your wonderful training. I thought it would be good, but not that good! The contents and delivery of your training is second to none and I feel very satisfied that my new and more seasoned MFL coordinators left your session clutching your brilliant free resources and fired up with confidence, enthusiasm and passion for the task ahead of them. Thank you for being so generous with your experiences and resources.

Just a quick e-mail to say very many thanks for the inset which you delivered on Wednesday. It was lively, practical and great fun and from comments at coffee and at the end, staff clearly appreciated the session. We very much hope that we can find a date which will suit us all so that we can invite you back to do a follow on at our conference in Term 4.

Pam Banks
MFL Advisor. Luton Borough Council.
Just a note to thank you again, very much, for your workshops yesterday. Having attended sessions with you in the past, I knew they would be well received, and the feedback certainly reflects that. Comments on the evaluation sheet include ‘The children will love it!’. ‘Can’t wait to use this method!’ and ‘Brilliant!’ Indeed, in answer to the question ‘what was the best aspect of the day?, a number of people identified your workshop as their top choice. I really am very grateful to you for making the long journey south to give your valuable and valued contribution to our event.

I have completed the analysis of evaluations from conference, at last and I thought you would like to know that a good number of delegates singled out your session as particularly good. Comments included ‘very inspiring’, ‘very interactive and well presented’,‘brilliant!’. ‘Carole Nicoll’s dance session was fantastic, will go back to school full of ideas’. That, I think you will agree, is a ringing endorsement for your methods and materials – and I will just mention that one of the MK teachers subsequently did a workshop slot at an Aim Higher event which I ran for some 115 kids from two MK schools in which she did the German ‘Head shoulders…’ song and the kids (needless to say) loved it. At one of the schools involved this was presented at an assembly during an Ofsted visit (which the school came through successfully – don’t know if we can claim magic powers for the song in that instance, of course, but it was brilliant). Thank you again, therefore, for your great input to what was a very successful day in the eyes of the vast majority.

French Teacher at Park View School, Basingstoke.
I have been teaching MFL for more than 10 years at primary level and I can confidently say that the Language Factory songs are one of the most effective and enjoyable tools I have come across.
Children love singing, dancing and most of all performing.  Non linguists happen to join in and your subject becomes alive and fun.
The resource CD is full of interesting teaching ideas and has made my life easier.

Mim Hodgson
EFL and Spanish teacher.

I have been and enthusiastic user of your Spanish book for a couple of years.  I love using your songs!

Brian Montrose
Yr 4  Teacher. Billinge Chapel End Primary School.  Wigan.

What an inspiration The Language Factory’s workshops are – I never knew the ‘Locomotion’ was the secret to effective teaching of languages!  We’ve all, almost subconsciously, learnt the words and actions to different songs over the years, and these workshops encourage us to use the same techniques when working with children.  Enthusiastic delivery, allied with accessible and easy to learn songs, make the Language Factory’s workshops a must for teachers looking at delivering MFL in their classroom.  I will definitely be using Language Factory resources in my teaching of Spanish to Years 3 and 4 and my colleague will be using French Language Factory resources in Years 5and 6.  I would recommend both the training and the published resources to all colleagues.

Head of our Modern Languages Department, Birchfield Prep School, Albrighton.
As Head of our Modern Languages Department I was delighted to find 'Francais, Francais',
as in my 30 plus years of teaching French I have not found material so memorable or easy
to use as this. The songs, rhymes and raps are easy to retain for the pupils and work for all
ages. I have even used it for the after school parent pupil dual learning. Bravo, Carole Nicoll!

Depute Head Teacher Friockheim Primary.
Fantastic selection of lively songs, raps and rhymes to teach/reinforce/consolidate vocabulary and grammar points. This course has been invaluable and has really enhanced my delivery of French and German I've been using it for the past three years with P5, P6 and P7 pupils who absolutely love it. Have performed some of the songs and raps at whole school assemblies and end of term presentations - parents loved it! Also with staff at school-based training sessions, and they're still singing them!

"This is an excellent award winning Resource Pack with full colour books, audio CDs full of songs,
conversations and raps and a CD-ROM. The pupils think it is 'cool' and the teachers find it easy to teach. The packs are available in French, German and Spanish. I like the songs and raps because they are catchy. This is a valuable resource to any classroom whether in Primary School or early Secondary."
