The Language Factory at The Language Show October 2010

Visit us at THE LANGUAGE SHOW Oct 15, 16, 17 on stand 323! Its a busy weekend for us,
you will find us the following events:
Join our fun workshop on Friday, at The Piazza at 14.45.
Our presentation on Saturday 16th at 10.45 in the Careers Forum area.
Come to the Teachers Show and Tell Session at 4.30 Saturday 16th in Seminar Room 2.
Our animated seminar on Sunday at 14.15! SINGALONG and DANCEALONG and learn languages at the same time!

The Language Factory at The Language Show 2009

The Language Factory was at The Language show in October.
The workshop on Saturday 31st October at 17:00 was very well attended - visitors got involved with aerobics,
action songs and dances in Spanish, French, German and Italian and saw how successfuly music
can be used to learn a language!

Français! Français! in South Ayrshire February 2008

The Language Factory delivered the recent CPD Training Workshop in South Ayrshire
entitled ‘MFL Speaking Progression using Raps and Catchy Songs.’ Of the 45 teachers present,
100% gave ‘Very Good’ to each of the evaluation criteria: Content in Relation to Stated Aims,
Content with Relevance to Learning and Teaching,
Relevance to Professional Development and Presentation.

Comments included:
Resource provided by Authority (excellent) so supports use.
Great ideas on using the pack.
Children will learn through very enjoyable activities.
My teaching will be much more active.
This makes it fun and helps retention.
Provides more opportunities for active learning.
Can’t wait to try it all!
Excellent course.
Didn’t realise songs had such an impact on learning.

 

Language Factory visit The Goethe Institute in Glasgow, November 2007

TITLE OF COURSE: The Language Factory Workshop

German speech progression using raps and catchy songs.
Promoting an enjoyable language learning environment using visual, audio and kinaesthetic strategies.

Evaluation sheets were returned by all 30 participants, and all grades were marked ‘Highly effective’.

Comments included:
FANTASTIC! Varied, relevant, light-hearted, supportive.
I really enjoyed the presentation, lots of ideas that will be very useful.
Presentation was excellent, informative and relaxed.
Varied and colourful, pitched at right level.
Great materials! Great ideas! Great songs!

 

Language Factory at the MFL Conference in Blackpool, February 2008

Over 40 delegates were present and of these 98% evaluated the day’s usefulness as a 1 on a Scale of 1 – 5.
